Planet Earth – Give some thinking to earth
Back in the 80’s we had USA for AFRICA, where the famous faces of the time organized a campaign to help Africa. Then, Prince left the camp just days before the release of “We are the world” in fact during the rehearsals of the song. There were many controversies circulating at the time that Prince left after he showed up at the studio only to find a ladies underwear with a thank you placed on the door. He came out with his own song “4 the tears in ur eyes” a classic! (Later on he went on to release another single “Hello” making a mockery of them with a message: “We’re against hungry children, our record stands tall. But there’s just as much hunger here at home”. Prince also gives his version of the story as to why he left the camp: I tried 2 tell them that I didn’t want 2 sing, but I’d gladly write a song instead. They said OK and everything was cool, till a camera tried 2 get in my bed)
Now we have “The Earth Concerts”. Again no prince in it. So, he goes on to release his new album “Planet Earth” with a 21 day concerts in the UK named “The earth Tour”. The first 10 days seats went out in an HOUR!
What’s more? The album is available FREE in the UK with a copy of the Mail on Sunday!

The singles worth mentioning are “The one U wanna C” “Chelsea Rodgers” “All the midnights in the world” and “Planet Earth”.
The single “Guitar” is a remake of the single he posted on his 3121.com website for download for his fans. After the release of his single, the fans on his different fan sites questioned his approach to not include real guitar in the single. By the way, Prince is the most under rated guitar player in the music business. The answer to the fans question resulted in the release of “Guitar” in the album with more guitar and live sound. (I personally believe the previous “Guitar” single was better than the later released)
“The one U wanna C” is a very rhythmic single. A radio hit I would say. Would love to see how he performs it live.
“Chelsea Rodgers” is a true funky single with Prince taking a back seat while Shelby taking the vocals most of the time.
“Resolution” sees the comeback of “the Revolution” his former band much famous for the Purple Rain era. More importantly Wendy and Lisa after a lay back of 20 years.
“Mr. Goodnight” has Prince rapping!! But in his own style.
“Somewhere here on earth” “Future Baby Mama” “All the midnights in the world” are slow tempo singles with nothing extra than his usual self.
“Planet Earth” is a good song if you are a Prince fan and dig his music. The guitar is cool and so are the lyrics. A great opener for the album but then pretty much all of his album open with the title track.
The other track isn’t worth mentioning
Welcome to my blog
This is my first experience in blogging. I had read alot of blogs in the past but never bothered making one of my own. Now, finding this easy to use toolkit, I have finally decided to make it. Don’t know how successful this experience of mine will be. Only time will tell.
